Homeowner Companion is a mobile application that helps you organize and store information about your home. It is owned and operated by House & Home Enterprises LLC ("we," "us"), a limited liability company based in Durham, North Carolina, USA.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own private use. You may not:
You decide what information to enter into the app. By entering information, you confirm that you have the legal right to do so — including information about properties you own, rent, or are otherwise authorized to record.
Your information stays only on your device. As explained in the Privacy Policy, we do not receive or have access to it. You are responsible for:
Homeowner Companion organizes information. It is not a real-estate, legal, financial, tax, insurance, or other advisory service. Information presented in the app, including features that estimate, suggest, or recommend, is for your reference only. You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions about your property, financing, insurance, taxes, or any related matter.
When you use the "Request assistance" feature, the app prepares an email in your own email app with information you've entered. You decide whether to send it. If you send it, we may respond to you directly or connect you with a professional we believe is qualified to assist with what you've described.
We do not warrant or guarantee the services of any professional we may connect you with. Any agreement, transaction, or relationship you enter into with a professional is between you and that professional. We are not party to such agreements and are not responsible for their outcomes.
We may receive a referral fee or commission from professionals to whom we refer inquiries. This does not affect the price you pay for any service. Where required by law, we will disclose specific compensation arrangements.
Because your information is stored only on your device, it is your responsibility to protect it. We are not responsible for loss of information caused by:
The app includes features that prepare emails for you to send through your own email account. When you send such an email, the content goes to the recipient you specify. We are not involved in transmission and are not responsible for what or with whom you share.
The app is free to download. Some features may require an unlock code or a one-time purchase, which is handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Refunds and disputes related to those purchases are handled through the respective store per its policies.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, or that any defects will be corrected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will House & Home Enterprises LLC, its members, employees, or affiliates be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the app, regardless of the legal theory.
Our total liability for any direct damages will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim, or fifty US dollars (USD $50), whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify and hold House & Home Enterprises LLC harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date below and provide notice through the app or this website. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or terminate your license if you violate these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Durham County, North Carolina.
